FC Volga Nizhny Novgorod (Russian: Футбольный Клуб "Волга" Нижний Новгород) is a Russian football club from Nizhny Novgorod, founded in 1963. In 2008, FC Volga won the Ural-Povolzhye (Volga Region in Russian) zone of the Russian Second Division and advanced to the Russian First Division. It finished First Division as 4th in 2009 and finished one as 2nd in 2010 and promoted to Russian Premier League for 2011 season. Promotion to the top league was secured after 2-2 draw with Nizhny Novgorod at Nizhny Novgorod derby on November 3, 2010.
